Not long ago I was touting the new series of Gladiators on Channel 7 as the must watch for fans of terrible television. It seems that I made a mistake. Having watched a few episodes I am deeply embarrassed that I even suggested that it would be worth even a passing glance as you flip through [...] What I am about to say will be considered heresy by some – I hate sport. As a recreational pursuit playing sport is excellent, it keeps you fit and everyone likes a bit of competition. Even I enjoy playing it. What I am talking about is the massively over-inflated status of sport and sports people in [...] I have a confession to make. Despite all of my careful artifices to maintain my image as an intellectual giant (keep down the laughter at the back please) I have a dreadful fetish for bad TV.
